The Spark
Twitchy looked at the calendar and sighed. Another birthday, another reminder that time kept moving. So he made a decision: if time was moving, he would move with it.
Wobbly, wonderful, and still chasing outrageous dreams
Twitchy McGrit is the wobbly, big-hearted mascot of outrageous dreams, Parkinson’s courage, and saying “yes” to life even when your legs don’t always cooperate.
He’s the guide and heart of the upcoming book, Oh Crap! It’s Parkinson’s by Dr. Sara Whittingham—physician, veteran, athlete, and Parkinson’s advocate. Twitchy stands in for every person living with Parkinson’s who refuses to be reduced to a diagnosis. He reminds us that movement, connection, and a slightly ridiculous dream can change the story.
This little shop is his launch pad: whimsical shirts and gear that spread hope and help support riders pedaling all the way to the World Parkinson Congress in Phoenix in 2026. When you wear Twitchy, you’re not just putting on a shirt—you’re joining a movement of grateful, gritty, outrageously stubborn dreamers.

Twitchy looked at the calendar and sighed. Another birthday, another reminder that time kept moving. So he made a decision: if time was moving, he would move with it.
“This year,” he announced, “I’m going to ride my bike all the way to the big meeting three states away— the gathering of courageous, extraordinary creatures who refuse to give up.”
His friend Doubting Debbie nearly choked on her coffee. “You? Ride three states? You’ll do that when pigs fly!” Twitchy just grinned. “Then I guess I know what I need to do.”
Every morning, Twitchy pedaled up the long hill to the bluff overlooking town, where the clouds felt closer and the air smelled like possibility.
At the bluff he met Penelope, a pig with a bowtie and a lifelong dream of flying. Twitchy told her about the ride. “It’ll only happen when pigs fly,” he joked. Penelope smiled—she was all in.
They tried everything—balloons, kites, gliders. The launches flopped, the socks sagged, and the townsfolk shook their heads. But Twitchy kept showing up, laughing, learning, and trying again.
One by one, hedgehogs with helmets, hares with handlebars, and old hounds with creaky knees joined him on the hill. The bluff became a rolling parade of believers.
As the meeting drew closer, Twitchy worried. Penelope still hadn’t flown, and everything they’d built seemed silly. “Maybe I won’t go this year,” he sighed.
Penelope shook her head. “Twitchy, you’ve been flying all along—you just didn’t notice.” The others chimed in: “We’ll ride with you all the way to Phoenix.”
They rolled into Phoenix dusty, sweaty, and grinning—hundreds of riders cheering. The pig never flew. But the dream did. Twitchy had turned “impossible” into a community on wheels.
In 2026, groups of riders living with Parkinson’s Disease will set out from Utah, Seattle, and Chicago, pedaling their way to the World Parkinson Congress in Phoenix. They’re riding to show what’s possible—chasing outrageous dreams, proving that movement is medicine, and reminding the world that even wobbly legs can carry big hope.
When you buy a Twitchy McGrit T-shirt, you’re not just getting a shirt. You’re helping fuel this journey—mile by mile, rider by rider.
All proceeds from Twitchy’s shirts—approximately $10–$12 per T-shirt—go directly to support the Pedal to Phoenix riders on their journey to WPC 2026.
